Escape Room – Chapter 8

Escape Room – Chapter 8

Serena and Alecia looked at one another, both of their eyes drawn to the television. They didn’t really have much of a choice, did they? They hadn’t meant to leave their friend behind, and they certainly couldn’t leave her here, if they had an option to do otherwise, and, for the moment, their only clue was the image on the TV.

“How do we get up there?” Serena asked, staring at the tall shelf. Normally, it probably wasn’t even that high… She doubted she’d have had much of a problem reaching it if she was full height. Now, however…

“How am I supposed to know?” Alecia pouted, crossing her arms. “You heard her! I’m just a dumb baby now! I don’t know how to do anything!”

Serena sighed, annoyed that she was the only one here to comfort the cheerleader, or that she had to. There wasn’t time for them to get upset… Now that they knew the real consequences of not escaping, they couldn’t take any chances. She reached over, patting Alecia’s arm with one mittened hand. “There, there,” she said. “It’ll be all right… We’ll figure out something…”

She looked around the room, pondering how, exactly, she was going to make that come true. Thankfully, it didn’t take long for her eyes to fall across the pile of blocks. “What about those?” she pointed, before remembering that, thanks to the pink fabric around her hands, the gesture might not help much. “The blocks,” she elaborated. “If we could stack them up right, we might be able to build a staircase up there!”

“Oh!” Alecia’s eyes lit up. “Yeah!” She waddled over to them, sliding one across the floor. Serena quickly followed, wrapping her arms around another block, and nearly managing it, only to have it slip out from between her mittens when she attempted to lift it. Frowning, she tried to push it instead, but her mittens were too slick for that, too, making her stumble forward and almost smack her face into the block when she rested them on the surface, then started to shove, just to have her hands slide off to either side.

“Are you going to help?” Alecia glowered, already back to get another block.

“I’m doing my best!” Serena blushed. “This is harder than it looks, you know!”

“Oh, is it?” Alecia asked smugly, moving to pick the block up, her eyes widening as she stayed still. “Th-This one is heavier than it looks,” she stammered.

“Is it?” Serena shot back, sticking out her tongue.

“Well, at least I’ve done something!” Alecia stomped her foot.

“And if it wasn’t for me, you wouldn’t have any idea what to do in the first place!” Serena retaliated.

“I would’ve gotten there eventually!” Alecia insisted, but neither girl seemed particularly convinced by that argument. “It still would hurt you to do some of the work.”

“I’m trying!” Serena fumed. “You don’t know how hard these dumb mittens make everything!”

“Fine,” Alecia stepped away from the block, grabbing Serena’s arm and lifting it up. “Why don’t you just take them off, then?”

“You don’t think I thought of… Ow!” Serena squealed as Alecia gave one of the mittens a tug, her whole arm going with it, her shoulder threatening to pop out of its socket with how hard Alecia was yanking on it. “It’s not that easy! Stop it!”

“Okay, okay!” Alecia rolled her eyes. “Baby.”

“It hurt!” Serena pouted, rubbing her shoulder.

“Well, moving all of these dumb blocks myself is going to hurt, too,” Alecia complained.

“I didn’t get these on purpose!” Serena said, making another attempt at helping, and failing miserably before standing by and watching awkwardly as Alecia shoved them all across the room, building a staircase, feeling useless in her pink mittens and dirty diaper, her tummy rumbling again already thanks to the brownie she’d been fed.

Serena definitely wasn’t going to be able to lift the blocks up onto one another, so Alecia was left to do that, too, Serena realizing only when the other girl was almost done that she could have taken the time to look around, get some more of an idea of what some of the other things in this room might require.

“There!” Alecia flopped down on the top block with a groan when she was finished, looking tired. “All done. Can I take a nap now?”

“Feel free,” the woman’s voice boomed. “I’m glad you’ve been having fun playing with your blocks, girls. You’re now at half an hour.”

Half an hour… That meant their time was halfway up! And they’d barely even started on this room! Serena scrambled up the makeshift stairway, Alecia getting to her feet at the top and stepping over onto the shelf where the TV was sitting, where the doll version of Julianne was being made to play dress-up.

“So… What do we do now?” Alecia asked, staring at the screen. “She’s right there! If we could just…”

She reached out towards the image on the screen, and, to both of the girls’ shock, she glowed for a moment, then vanished. “Alecia!” Serena gasped, nibbling her bottom lip as she watched the TV, waiting to see the cheerleader appear.

She didn’t. “Alecia, are you there?” Serena fidgeted anxiously. What should she do?! Should she go after her? Or was this just a trap, a red herring made to suck up more of their time, which was rapidly ticking away, already, by now, more than halfway done? There was so much more of this room to see…

What if she needed the other two to solve the puzzles, though? Julianne seemed to be in there, and now Alecia did, too, whether Serena could see her on the screen or not… She might not like Alecia that much, but she didn’t want to abandon her in this place, and she definitely didn’t want to leave Julianne…

She took a deep breath, reaching her hand out to brush against the television, wincing as she felt a rush of air, the glowing pixels rushing towards her face, as if she were about to crash right into it…

“Done already?”

Serena looked up to see one of her teachers, Mr. Bledsoe, standing over her, looking unimpressed. Then again, he usually looked that way… He was famous for being one of the most strict professors at the college; was that part of why Serena had always been kind of attracted to him? It was hard to say… He was handsome, too, but she liked that he almost never gave her the look she was getting now, the one he used on nearly everybody else at some time.

Glancing back down, she saw that she was sitting at a desk, a test in front of her, totally blank, and she had just long enough to wonder if she’d dreamed the whole escape room before she shifted in her seat, felt the squishy squelch of her dirty diaper against the hard, wooden chair.

“That’s funny,” Mr. Bledsoe said, snatching the test, holding it up in front of the rest of the class. “It doesn’t look like you’ve even begun… And yet, here you are, snoozing away like you’re all finished.”

“S-Sorry, sir,” she blushed, squirming uncomfortably at the sound of her classmates giggling at her discomfort.

“Why don’t we give it another try?” he asked, setting it back down. He waited a moment, nodded. “Go on, then.”

The mittens were still firmly secured around her hands, but she pawed at her pencil anyway, doing her best to pick it up, to do as she was told. Mr. Bledsoe sighed, grabbing her by the wrist, yanking her out of her seat, Serena realizing, as she struggled to keep up with him while being dragged to the front of the classroom, that she was still baby-sized, that everyone there towered over her. She tried to pull the back of her skirt down, to hide the bulk of her diapers, and the evidence of what she’d done in them, but there was no way for her to get ahold of that, either.

“All right, then, young lady,” Mr. Bledsoe announced. “If you won’t take your test like a normal student, you can do it here, in front of everyone.”

He pushed a footstool in front of the whiteboard at the front of the room, gesturing for her to step onto it. Serena’s cheeks burned as she glanced behind herself, seeing her classmates watching with glee… And seeing now that the far wall was shimmering, see-through, showing her what appeared to be a view of the campus cafeteria.

Was she inside of a TV now? Was the show being broadcast to the other students, while they ate?! The perspective seemed high up, like the televisions she knew were there in the corners of the room…

“I-I don’t…” she shook her head, knowing that, up on the footstool, it would be that much easier for anyone watching – whether they were seated behind her, or in the cafeteria, if that was for real, and not an illusion meant to make her more self-conscious – to see up her short skirt, to see her dirty diaper…

Mr. Bledsoe picked her up, Serena not quick enough to avoid his hands as they reached out for her, putting her down on top of the stool, facing the board, her lumpy seat on full display, as evidenced by the increased laughter she could hear behind her.

“Okay, young lady,” he said. “Pick up that marker, and we can start with your first question.”

“B-But…” Serena whimpered, staring down at her mittens. “I-I can’t…”

“Right now,” he barked. “Or you’re getting an F for the day… And a spanking, for being such a naughty, disobedient little girl.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Alecia stumbled forward, nearly tripping over her own feet as she struggled to stop in time, bumping up against the back of a pair of shapely legs, stretching high above her, ending, she realized when she glanced up, in a familiar looking short skirt, matching bloomers underneath.
“Excuse you,” Crystal sniffed, spinning around. Of course it was Crystal… Of all the girls on the cheerleading squad, Crystal was the one Alecia would least want to see her this way… Not that she would really be happy about any of them. It was too bad, then, that she slowly began to recognize where she was, that she was in the locker room. She’d spent a lot of time there, but it was very different seeing it this way, from this close to the ground. “Watch where you’re… Oh, my God!”
Alecia winced, watching the glee spread across Crystal’s face when she spotted her, and when her eyes were drawn to the soggy diaper around her waist. “We were wondering where you’d gone off to!” she smirked. “You missed practice, silly!”
Alecia squirmed, doing her best to hide her diaper beneath her hands as she peered behind herself, seeing not the regular brick wall of the locker room, but a screen, through which she could see what appeared to be the cafeteria, while Crystal easily pushed her hands aside. “I guess you were… busy, huh?” Crystal sneered, giving the diaper a squeeze. “What happened there, Alecia?”
“St-Stop it!” Alecia blushed, pushing Crystal’s hand away, shocked at how much effort it took… Though, she supposed, she shouldn’t have been, since she was now far, far smaller than her. She tried to run away, from Crystal and from the screen, her sneakers squeaking on the tile floor as she raced for the door…
Unfortunately, it burst open, the rest of the squad pouring in, looming over her. “Aww!” she could hear one coo. “Who let the baby in here?”
Was it better to pretend that was what she was, if they hadn’t realized? Crystal had known it was her right away, so the other girls might figure it out, too, and, if she hadn’t been able to get away from them first, wouldn’t that be more humiliating, having spent however long acting like she really was a toddler? It was so hard to think, to make decisions, now… Everything felt so foggy, so confusing…
“I’m not a baby!” she insisted, stomping her foot.
“Of course you aren’t,” Britney knelt down. “You’re a very big girl now, aren’t you? Where’s your Mommy?”
“No!” Alecia shook her head. “I’m big!” She gestured to her chest, the pink crop top that surely no parent would allow an actual toddler to wear.
“Not big enough to keep her pants dry,” another cheerleader commented, the rest snickering.
“No, I am!” Alecia whined, and, having what she thought was a sudden, brilliant idea, she grabbed her shirt, yanking it off, leaving herself bare-chested so the rest of the squad could see, without a doubt, that she wasn’t a toddler, no matter how short she was. Most, if not all, of them had caught a glimpse of them before, in this same locker room… If she was being honest, she could be a bit too liberal with taking her time getting dressed after the shower, happy to show off…
“Oh, please, Alecia,” Crystal snorted, snatching the shirt out of Alecia’s hands, Alecia too slow and too weak to keep ahold of it, watching in horror as it was whisked away, leaving her standing there in her diaper, frilly ankle socks, and Velcro sneakers, like someone so young that it didn’t matter if she wore anything more than that, despite her having disrobed in an attempt to prove the opposite. “Nobody’s going to look at those when they’re so distracted by your big. Wet. Diaper!”
She punctuated the last few words with a smack on the seat of Alecia’s diaper each, hard enough to jolt the girl, lifting her briefly off her feet. The second time, she felt a warmth starting to spread through her padding as she helplessly began to wet herself in front of the whole cheerleading squad, her bladder refusing to stop as they all stared and giggled.
“It is her!” Britney exclaimed. “Hi, there, Alecia!” she waved. “Guess you’re not going to try to steal any more boyfriends like this, are you?”
“Th-That wasn’t my fault!” Alecia blushed. “I-It Was Halloween… I can’t help it if I chose a better costume than…”
“Yeah, that’s definitely her,” Viola rolled her eyes. “She just doesn’t know when to shut up, does she? But she’s the perfect size for us to shove a pacifier in her mouth so we don’t have to listen to her.”
“Or even better,” Crystal grinned. “There’s a daycare right down the road… We can drop her off there, and get her out of our hair for good. After we take her on a little tour of the campus so everyone can enjoy her new look.”
Alecia shook her head, watching as her squad began to circle around her, all seeming to agree that was a good plan, nobody speaking up to defend her… “Y-You can’t do that!” she sniffed. “I-I’m a big girl!”
“Are you?” Crystal raised an eyebrow. “Okay, then…” She reached into her locker, pulling out her pom-poms, shoving them into Alecia’s arms, the things nearly as big as her now. “Do a little cheer for us, Alecia. Go on… Cheer us through the ABCs. Surely nobody who’s so certain she’s a big girl would have any trouble with that… Right?”
“A-All of them?” Alecia gulped, all of that time she’d spent staring at those picture books making that feel like a daunting, if not impossible, task.
“That’s right,” Crystal smiled. “Now, get to shaking that little, Pampered booty… Or else.”
What should Serena do?
Answer the questions out loud, to prove she can still pass the test?
Try to get Mr. Bledsoe to let her out of her mittens so she can write on the board?
Try to run away through the classroom’s door?
Or try to run away through the screen?
And what should Alecia do?
Try to cheer her ABCs and see how far she can get?
Try to see if she can remember another cheer to see if that will work instead?
Try to get past the squad and through the locker room’s door?
Or try to run away through the screen?
Daddy’s Day
Daddy’s Day
“So,” Kayley asked, turning around in bed to face her boyfriend, “what do you want for Daddy’s Day?”
Parker tilted his head slightly with a chuckle. “You don’t have to get me anything,” he told her. “It’s not like we have a kid or anything, so I’m not a father.”
Kayley giggled, running a finger down his bare chest. “But you’re definitely a daddy. All my friends say so.” He rolled his eyes, then let it go. She knew he didn’t like the idea of her friends talking about him, of her showing off pictures of him to them; at first, she’d assumed it was because something was up, that he had some illicit, secret family he was hiding from her. Now, she was pretty sure it was just because he was a little older than her, and thought it was strange enough that she’d been into him enough to go out with him, much less that her friends might find him attractive, too.
“I feel like we should do something,” she said. Or, more accurately, like she should do something for him… And, if he was going to continue to brush it off, as he did, and not give her any ideas, then she was just going to have to come up with something on her own.
It wasn’t that hard, really… She dressed pretty modestly, for the most part, and, while Parker said he didn’t mind, she had, at times, caught him staring at girls who didn’t, while they were out, who wore short skirts and plunging necklines… It might be fun, one time, to be one of those girls…
She pretended to drop the subject, then, as the holiday approached, brought up the idea of him meeting her at the mall on the day. They didn’t go there too terribly often, but she didn’t think it was unusual enough to raise any red flags. “You don’t have anything planned for Father’s Day, do you?” he asked anyway. “I know when that is, and I know how you are… I told you, I don’t need anything.”
“I know!” she insisted. “It’s just a Sunday, too… I thought it would be nice to get out of the house, that’s all!”
She showed up in a normal outfit for her, some jeans and a baggy t-shirt, which, to be honest in June, was starting to be a bit too warm. Any other time, she might have switched to shorts; today, she dealt with it on the drive there, knowing it would be air conditioned inside, and wanting the biggest difference when the switch happened.
They went to a couple stores together and had a quick food court lunch before Kayley announced, “There are a few things I want to look at on my own. Will you be okay by yourself for a bit?”
“I think I’ll be all right,” he smiled. “Text me when you’re ready to meet back up.”
Her hope was that she wouldn’t have to… There weren’t many other stores there he was interested in that they hadn’t already visited, so after she was ready, she planned to wander by each of them, see if she could run into him. First, however, she had to high-tail it to the closest teen clothes store. Her mother would never have let her get away with most of the outfits she saw in there when she was a teenager, and she wouldn’t have had the guts to try them anyway, but they were exactly what she was looking for.
It didn’t take long to throw together something slutty and slinky that would definitely catch Parker’s eye. She felt embarrassed paying for it, letting the cashier paw over the tiny bits of fabric, searching for the tag to scan, though she reminded herself that there was no way the girl could know they were for her… She hadn’t even tried them on, she’d been too nervous.
That waited until she was in the bathroom, heart pounding as she hung the shopping bag off the hook on the back of the stall door, slipping her purse inside it to get it out of the way. She could always wait until they got back to his place, show off her new outfit there… But that wasn’t her plan, and it wasn’t nearly as fun. She took a deep breath, pulling out the tiny crop top, and the seemingly even tinier pleated skirt. It would definitely be less warm than what she was wearing now, she mused… And it would almost definitely get her boyfriend’s attention.
Even having seen them, stealthily holding them up to herself in the store when she was sure nobody was looking, it still shocked her how small they were, after slipping out of her old clothes, pulling on the new. The skirt was so short, she was afraid she’d end up flashing her panties to the whole mall… Except, someone who walked around dressed this way probably wouldn’t bother with panties at all, would she?
That had never been a part of the plan, though now, in the moment, it felt like a good idea, like it would really drive home how dedicated she was to this ‘gift’ for Parker… And it was kind of exciting to think about. She blushed, sliding her underwear down, tossing them into the bag with the rest of her other clothes, finishing it all off by replacing her sneakers with a pair of black heels.
She barely recognized the person in the mirror over the sink, but in a good way. She giggled to herself as she started putting on the final touches, re-doing her makeup, only to be interrupted by the clearing of a throat, and the sight of a strict looking woman in a red dress looming over her, even with the heels Kayley was wearing, arms crossed.
“What do you think you’re doing, dressing like that in public, young lady?”
Kayley blushed, squirming and tugging at her clothes, feeling self-conscious again all of the sudden, before reminding herself that she was an adult, and she could dress however she wanted… And that she was doing it for Parker.
“That’s none of your business,” she sniffed, turning back to the mirror.
“Oh, it isn’t, is it?” the woman demanded, grabbing Kayley by the ear, twisting it to pull her away from her makeup, the smaller girl yelping. “I think we need to have a talk with your parents, little lady!”
Kayley was so shocked, and so determined not to let her ear get yanked off her head as the woman started to drag her away by it, that she didn’t even remember her shopping bag, with her old clothes, and her purse, until she was out of the bathroom, in the mall itself. “Let me go!” she squealed uselessly. “I am an adult! You can’t treat me this way! I can dress however I want!” But she had no way to prove that, and the woman disagreed.
“Honestly!” she scoffed, shaking her head as she stared down at Kayley. “What are you wearing under that skirt?”
Kayley’s face burned bright red. “Umm…”
“Disgusting,” the woman sighed. “Lucky for you, and your parents, I know just how to deal with your kind…”
Escape Room – Chapter 7
Serena kicked her feet on the floor, the pink Mary Janes not making much of a satisfying sound, either, which only made her want to continue to thrash and whine, uselessly pounding her mittened hands on the ground beside her as she sniffled. This was not how today was supposed to go!
And now… Well, now she was throwing a fit, right in the middle of this place, while Julianne watched from above. Serena blushed, realizing how absurd and childish she was being – even if she felt like it was justified – thanks especially to the stupid outfit she was wearing, and the state of her diaper. She looked very much like she belonged in this place… And maybe that was true.
No! No, it wasn’t! She was a college student now! Not even a freshman anymore, she was a sophomore! She was old enough that she should be able to figure out this place, and all its puzzles, and to not act like a baby if Alecia did her part… Or even if she did more than her fair share. All that mattered was getting all of them out of here.
She took a deep breath, trying her best to wipe her eyes with the mittens locked around her wrists. If she gave up now, they had no chance… Alecia might be on a roll now, but that might not be the case forever, and this place was designed for three people… Surely there was no way Alecia would be able to solve everything in time!
She looked around the room, mentally making a checklist of everything that seemed important, marking off what she or Alecia had done already. Honestly, if she stayed calm and thought about it for a few moments, there wasn’t that much left to investigate… And one of those places had to contain the combination to free Julianne. Once she was out, they’d be unstoppable!
The idea of moving the stool wore her out, even without the mittens on her hands, so she knew she wasn’t going to bother with the fridge, or the sink itself, which was tall enough that she wouldn’t able to look in on her own. Besides, after falling for the trap under the sink, she was not in the mood to go near that thing again anytime soon if she didn’t have to.
That really only left one option, which were the pots and pans strewn over the floor. Thankfully, unlike the books, they weren’t strewn about quite as much, mostly confined to one area. She toddled her way over to see them more closely, pondering what she could possibly need to do with them.
They were all upside-down, which was suspicious in and of itself. All sorts of things could be hiding under there, good… or bad. With her luck, probably the latter, but she had to try it anyway.
She carefully knelt down beside them, reaching out for the nearest pan, wrapping her mittened hands around it and attempting to lift… And failing. She whimpered, scrambling to her feet to give herself more leverage, to no avail. Either they were very heavy, or the mittens were making her very weak… Or both. Whatever the case, that wasn’t going to work, and neither would her attempts to knock them over.
She stomped her foot again in frustration, feeling another tantrum welling up. She stopped, closing her eyes, sucking in another gulp of air. Everything else in this place seemed to be here for a reason, even if that reason was to trick her and her friends… There had to be a way to see what was going on with these things, too. What could that be?
The answer came to her a second later, making her feel silly for how upset she’d almost gotten. Of course! This whole escape room was meant to cause the players to feel like babies… And what did babies do with pots and pans?
She leaned over, giving the top of one of the pots a whack, the mitten coming in handy for once. It didn’t make much of a sound, but it did allow her to hit the bottom of the pot as hard as she wanted without it hurting, giving it a couple whacks before it flipped open, falling onto its side and revealing a large brownie on a colorful plate underneath.
She frowned, tilted her head in confusion, bending down to look at it a little more closely, only for the brownie to leap off the plate, flying through the air at her. She squealed in surprise, stumbling away, only to trip on her own feet, falling once more onto her mushy bottom, gasping in surprise and disgust, her mouth falling open… And allowing the brownie to shove itself inside.
It didn’t taste bad… If anything, it was too good, too rich and chocolatey as it smeared against her face, forcing its way into her mouth. Considering everything else that had happened in this room, she doubted eating it was a good idea, yet, thanks to the gloves, there wasn’t much she could do to push it away, get it out of her mouth.
Her tummy already feeling fuller, she pushed herself back up onto her knees, wrinkling her nose at the sight of all the other pots and pans. There were fewer of those than there were books, but if they all had little surprises like the first one… She wiggled her bottom worriedly. Still… She couldn’t give up after just one, could she?
She banged on the top of another one, bracing herself, mittens moving up in front of her face when she saw it begin to move on its own. When it turned over, however, it wasn’t more food hidden underneath… It was a small flashlight. Her eyes widened as she saw it, and she reached for it instinctively, though, of course, thanks to the mittens, she had no hope of picking up, much less using, the tiny thing. Yet that was almost definitely something useful, and she turned, ready to shout to Alecia to bring her over so she could grab it for her, before remembering she couldn’t speak… And before realizing that Alecia was already there.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Alecia was not about to let herself get trapped in this place. She might not feel like she knew much anymore, after spending so much time looking at those books, but she knew that, and she knew that the shapes were important.

The stool was heavy; not as bad as she remembered, however, perhaps thanks to the extra burst of adrenaline she’d gotten from peeing her pants, discovering how serious this had all gotten. It took her a moment to recall what shape she’d put the stool on when she’d tested it so she could avoid that, dragging it instead over to the gray circle. The stool fit in it much easier than it had within the star, though the circle still didn’t look like it was being pressed in, like it did when Alecia herself stood on it.

But that wasn’t going to stop her. She just wanted to test it, to see what was going to happen… And for that, she was going to need Serena, who was busy banging on the pots and pans. It wasn’t as loud and annoying as it could have been, thankfully, yet Alecia felt a pang of annoyance, seeing her playing around like that when she was working so hard to get them out of here. No wonder she’d been the first one to use her diaper here… Alecia didn’t love that she’d joined the club, obviously. At least it had taken her longer, and she’d only wet herself… So far.

“Come on,” Alecia rolled her eyes, grabbing Serena’s wrist, yanking her up. The girl’s eyes went wide and she shook her head, pointing one hand, encased now, Alecia saw, in a big, pink mitten, at the floor, where Alecia saw a flashlight. “Okay, whatever,” Alecia sighed, bending over to pick it up. “Now, would you come with me? I want to try something.”

Serena shook her head, jabbing her hand at the flashlight. Alecia glared at her, already losing patience with the smaller, younger girl. “You can play with that later! This is only going to take a second… I want to try standing on the shapes.”

Serena frowned, shaking her head again, more vehemently, pointing this time at the gate. “Yes, I know,” Alecia glowered. “The shapes probably open the gate. That’s why I want to…”

“But what about Julianne?!” Serena demanded, looking as shocked as Alecia that she’d actually said something again, rather than babbling, the way she had been for a few minutes now. Serena looked pleased with herself for a moment, before glaring up at Alecia again, putting her hands on her hips. “Well?!”

“We’ll figure that out later,” Alecia told her forcefully. “I want to get that gate open now, so we know we can get out.”

“But what if..?!” Serena asked.

Alecia clamped her hand around Serena’s wrist again, taking the girl by surprise as she yanked her away from her spot. “I liked it better when you were quiet,” Alecia grumbled, dragging her across the floor, the other girl no match for her.

“Can you just give me another couple minutes?!” Serena whined. “I think I’m…”

It wasn’t going to be easy, Alecia could tell, getting Serena to cooperate, but she was determined to make it work. She knew the locations of the shapes by heart, so she knew exactly how far apart they were, and she did her best to estimate how long it would take her to get to one from the other. If Serena was left to her own devices, she could simply step off, and Alecia would have no hope of getting to her spot… If she didn’t have that option, however…

“Hey!” Serena gasped as Alecia shoved her down, making her fall right onto the pink star. “That hurt!”

Alecia would have loved to ask how she’d even felt anything through her thick diaper, but she was busy scrambling across the floor, picking her way past piles of books to jump onto the last shape, the purple diamond. She turned, seeing Alecia recognize what was happening and start trying to get to her feet before giving up, scooting away…

“What clever babies,” the woman’s voice boomed. Alecia flinched, turning back around to see the giant stepping through the gate as it swung open. “Or… Well, I guess neither of you is quite as clever anymore, now are you?” She smirked, bending over to tap Alecia on the forehead. “You had quite the time with those books, didn’t you, my dear?”

Alecia blushed, the warmth in her cheeks increasing as the woman reached down, giving her soggy diaper a pat. “How embarrassing for you, to forget all about your potty training, at your age… No wonder you were so eager to leave your little friend behind.”

“Wh-What?!” Alecia shook her head. “N-No, I wasn’t…”

The woman turned towards Julianne, still trapped in the high chair, and grinned. “Poor thing… I wonder how much longer she can hold out… You other two ought to be ashamed of yourselves, using your diapers before her, when she’s been getting constantly fed, and given bottles, since she arrived… And now, she’s going to have to put up with it for even longer…”

“No, she doesn’t!” Alecia glared. “We’re going to get her out, and..!”

“We’ll see about that,” the woman said, taking Alecia’s hand and pulling her to her feet. “For now, though, you wanted out of here so bad, so you’re getting out.”

“No!” Alecia struggled to break free of the woman’s grip, reminded of how Serena had been struggling, not that long ago… But Alecia’s situation was even more hopeless, as the woman demonstrated by picking her up, carrying Alecia on her hip, one hand on the seat of her diaper, demonstrating how tiny the girl was compared to her, how impossible it would be for Alecia to get away from her.

“You, too, stinky,” the woman teased Serena, grabbing her hand as well, forcing the two of them through the gate, abandoning Julianne.

The gate swung shut behind them with a click, Alecia’s stomach churning as she knew that it was locked again. They’d never been able to see anything beyond the gate, but now, as they stepped through it, they could see that the other side didn’t hold freedom… It was a playroom.

In one corner of the room, there was something that almost looked like a pleasant, plastic prison, a playpen made up of brightly colored panels, stretching up nearly as high as the baby gate had, with bars. It had a gate as well, one that was standing open, invitingly, letting them see the plastic balls filling the floor inside, obscuring their view of anything else that might be inside.

There was much more to keep them entertained outside of the playpen, however. There were coloring books, what seemed to be a large jack in the box, several ring stacking toys, a whole host of blocks, a large dollhouse, and a closed toy box that no doubt held even more surprises. There was a plastic slide set up as well, along with several long, cloth tunnels, shaped like friendly caterpillars, smiling and inviting the girls to climb inside.

A high shelf, far out of reach, held a TV, showing some kids’ show neither of the girls recognized, though, in it, they could see what seemed to be a doll version of Julianne being forced to join in a song and dance teaching her her alphabet. The room also, unsurprisingly, had a changing table set up, the shelves underneath stocked with diapers and changing supplies, with a diaper pail sitting beside it. And right on the other side of the diaper pail was the best part of all.

A door. A door leading outside, a big window in it showing the sun shining out there, beckoning them to step out and enjoy it. Of course, there was no way it would be that simple… The doorknob was far too high for them to reach on their own, and it was, no doubt, locked, though, from what Alecia could tell, there didn’t appear to be a keyhole, or any visible way to unlock it.

“There you go,” the woman told them, setting Alecia down and letting go of Serena. “All you have to do is step out that door, and you’re free.”

“B-But we already solved it!” Alecia whined. “We got out!”

“You got out of the first room,” the woman said. “But most escape rooms aren’t just one room, are they, Serena?”

Serena shook her head, peering around the new room anxiously, “Wh-what about Julianne?”

“If you can figure out how to open the gate from this side, you can go get her,” the woman said. “Otherwise… Well, I suppose it’s up to you if you think you’ll have time to go back and do that, and get out of here. If she isn’t able to walk out of the door on her own, however… She’s mine.”

She smiled in a way that sent a chill up Alecia’s spine. “Just like you two will be, if you aren’t able to escape. You’ve already used up twenty minutes… Maybe you should just spend the rest of your hour playing, and enjoying yourselves.”

“I-It’s already been twenty?” Alecia frowned. “W-Wasn’t it just…?”

“That’s right,” the woman said. “It was just fifteen… And how many minutes ago was that?” She smirked, watching Alecia squirm. “This is an easy one, Alecia… What is twenty minus fifteen?”

Alecia was truly stumped, her cheeks burning as she felt Serena watching her, seeing her confusion, seeing her unaware of where to even begin. “Poor, dumb baby,” the woman chuckled. “You don’t have a chance…” She spun around, marching back towards the baby gate, easily stepping over the thing that had given the girls so much grief, leaving them to ponder the very important choices they had in front of them.
