The Sleepover

The Sleepover

“It’s not that big of a deal, Ellie,” Isabel assured her. “I know you don’t really need me there, but mom asked, so…”

“So tell her that!” Ellie stomped her foot, arms folded. It was hard, sometimes, to remember that she wasn’t that far off from graduating and joining Isabel in college… Isabel supposed that was true for any big sister looking at her younger siblings, but with Ellie, specifically, it certainly didn’t feel like she had grown up much at all. To be honest, she could understand why her parents hadn’t wanted her to have a slumber party unsupervised…

“I already said I’d do it,” Isabel shrugged. “I’m not going to go back on my promise now. But don’t worry, I’ll stay out of the way…” She could see that Ellie was still upset, and she knew she should stay quiet, leave it at that… She couldn’t help herself, though. “You know, I’d think you’d be excited; you used to beg me to let you come to my sleepovers.”

Ellie blushed, squirming in place. “Th-That was a long time ago!” she whined, storming off. It had been true, once… Isabel probably should have been better about letting her join, too. It had been cute, seeing how badly she’d wanted to spend time with the big girls, to prove she was just as mature as them, yet, at the time, all Isabel had wanted to do was hang out with her friends without having to babysit.

She probably shouldn’t think of what she was doing tonight as that – Ellie would hate it if she knew that was what was going through her mind – but it was hard to view it any other way, especially after her sister’s friends started showing up. They were all so goofy, so immature… She definitely hadn’t been this way a few short years ago, when she was their age!

She perched on the couch, watching them, starting out by trying to get some homework done, only to quickly give up on that. “Come on, girls,” she announced. “Keep it down, all right? The neighbors are going to hear if you keep being this loud.”

“Who cares?” Ellie rolled her eyes.

“I do,” Isabel gave her a stern look. Ellie might be taller than her, but there was no question of who was the older; Ellie wilted, blushing. “If the neighbors file a noise complaint, mom and dad are going to hear about it, and…”

“Okay!” Ellie huffed. “I get the picture!” She looked down at the floor, clearly trying to decide between asserting her independence in front of her friends by coming up with a witty response, and just doing as she was told to avoid any more reprimands. “It’s not like they’ve ever said anything at any of our other sleepovers,” she mumbled after a few moments.

Isabel let out a dramatic sigh, setting her laptop aside. “And does that mean they never will?” she asked. “Are you talking at exactly the same volume you were then? Maybe they all had long days, and this is the last straw, and…”

“Okay, okay!” Ellie glared at her. “I said okay! Jeez!”

Isabel didn’t trust that, however, picking up a magazine instead, half glancing at it while she watched the younger girls over the top of it as their conversation started out more quiet, then, in a matter of moments, escalated back up to a fever pitch once more. “Seriously,” she interjected. “If you can’t contain yourselves, I’m going to have to send you all home.”

Escape Room – Chapter 10

Escape Room – Chapter 10

Alecia gulped, staring over at the open playpen door, beckoning her inside. Like everything else in the room, it looked, outwardly, bright and colorful and cheerful; perhaps because of everything she’d been through here, however, it still, somehow, felt to her like the front door of an old, abandoned house, the kind all the neighborhood kids whispered about and called haunted, and that even the ones who claimed they didn’t believe in ghosts refused to step inside.

It didn’t help that she was positive this was, in fact, the exact same playpen her sister had. It should have, since it meant she knew how it worked, how to open the door… But she was too small to reach the latch. And, more importantly, that seemed like an awfully big coincidence, one that made her wonder what was going on in this place, especially after her little journey into the TV.

Of course, it was unusual that they’d been shrunken down to this size in the first place, instantly put into their new, infantile outfits… It was starting to feel like this escape room was going personal now, though, like it was reading her mind… Or, like it had known she was coming, and prepared this for her. She shifted in place, listening to the sound of her diaper crinkling, and her heart pounding as she spooked herself.

If that was the case, then should she leave the playpen for Serena to explore, to thwart their plans? Or was she thinking that because she was too scared to do it herself? Either way, Serena was already waddling away, perhaps embarrassed at how desperately she’d tried to stay with Mrs. Ariadne. Alecia sighed, setting the Julianne doll down in the middle of the room, having no pockets, or anywhere else to keep it, thanks to her time in the TV. “We found this already!” she announced. “Don’t cheat by taking it away!”

She took a few steps away, turned to ensure the doll hadn’t vanished, then continued on, the playpen looming large as, against her better judgement, she headed towards it. The sides really were quite tall, compared to her, and, if anything went wrong, she could easily get trapped in there… But she had to see what was in there, right? They wouldn’t have taken up all this space in the room and have nothing in there, would they?

Sucking in a deep breath, she went inside, her sneakers sinking into the soft rug inside. Until she was in there, it didn’t occur to her that she could have spent a bit more time outside, peering in to see if there was anything in there worth going in for; by now, it was too late. Maybe all of the other cheerleaders in the TV had been right… Maybe she was a dumb little baby now…

But she was a dumb little baby who was going to save her friend, and get out of this place! She kept moving deeper into the playpen, looking around. There were no cribs in the room, she realized now, so this playpen must be where naptime was meant to take place, because there were lots of blankets and pillows spread around invitingly, dolls next to many of them, like whoever had slept there had needed them to keep them company, only to have forgotten about them immediately afterwards, when there were other toys to play with… Not that she was going to try to sleep here, when time was ticking down. What was she supposed to find in here, though? What were they going to do with some blankets, and pillows, and dolls?

Dolls! Her eyes widened as she thought back to the Julianne doll she’d just set down. Why hadn’t she thought of that the moment she’d seen the other ones?! It hadn’t taken that long, but it was another example of how slowly her mind was working now, of what being in this place was doing to her. She wasn’t sure exactly what she was looking for, yet, now that she was certain it was the dolls she should be looking at, it didn’t take long before she spotted it.

Or, rather, before she spotted herself. There was no mistaking it, no matter how small it was, or how it had been turned into a toy. That was definitely her, staring blankly up at herself. At the very least, it was dressed in her cheerleading uniform, which was nice, but there was still something creepy about seeing a doll version of herself, much less bending over and picking it up.

That was when she heard the familiar squeak, turning quickly, knowing, from experience, just what that meant. “Stop!” she gasped, scrambling back towards the playpen’s gate as it started to swing shut on her. “No, no, no!”

She could do this… She was an athlete! She was fast! It hadn’t slammed closed immediately… If she could get to it in time, she could slip through, and she’d be safe!

She probably could have, too, except that, almost immediately, she tripped, falling flat on her face into the soft, comfy rug, watching helplessly as the gate closed and latched with a click as she lay there, trying to catch her breath so she could stand back up. “No,” she repeated one more time, gazing forlornly up, over the gate, the way she remembered Rebecca doing plenty of times, begging her to let her out, knowing she was unable to do it on her own.

What was wrong with her?! She wasn’t that clumsy, was she?! The diaper might still be throwing her balance off, but for something as important as this, surely she should have been able to get over that… “Ugh!” she groaned, kicking her feet in frustration.

That’s what she tried to do, anyway, and one foot succeeded, while the other one stayed stuck in place. Furrowing her brow, she turned, looking back to see the real reason she hadn’t made it; there was a blanket wrapped around her ankle, holding her there. “Get off!” she squealed, kicking at it with her other foot, only for the blanket to reach out, enveloping it as well, climbing slowly up her body, tightly encasing her legs.

“Stop it!” she whimpered, attempting to scoot away on her diapered bottom, hating how cozy and comforting the rug felt underneath her, how inviting… She knew exactly what was going on, even before she caught a glimpse of one of the pillow floating towards her. The playpen was attempting to put her down for a nap… A nap that, she suspected, wouldn’t be over until their time in the escape room had run out, at this rate.

And, what was worse, she could feel her body trying to comply, her eyelids growing heavy as she was covered up more and more by the blanket, wanting nothing more than to curl up on the floor and drift off to sleep… “S-Serena…” she called out weakly, as if the other girl had any hope of getting into the playpen, now that the gate was closed… And, even if she could have, would she be able to resist this, either?

No, Alecia had gotten herself into this mess, and now she had to get herself out of it. She sat up, yanking at the blankets, shoving them as far down her body as she could, wriggling her legs to try to help work them down. Thankfully, it appeared to work, although, by the time she had the blankets around her ankles, they were wrapped so tight she felt one of her shoes slide off when she pulled her feet out of the mess.

She did get out, however, so she didn’t mind too much. It gave her an uneven gait as she hurried away from the writhing cloth, but, after a few steps, she thought to reach down and undo the Velcro on her other shoe, yanking it off and throwing it into the blanket, hoping that would slow it down, or keep it busy. That might have been a mistake, she realized after she’d already let go of the shoe… She wasn’t about to go searching for the other one, though, and having one off and one on would probably slow her down more than anything.

“Oh, the doll!” it dawned on her as she stared back at where she’d just escaped from and questioning her decisions. In her panic, she’d forgotten all about it, and that was the one thing she was confident she was meant to get out of this playpen! She saw it, lying still, a little too close to the blanket for her comfort… “Dummy,” she scolded herself, knowing that she was going to have to go back and get it.

She had to be fast… She couldn’t let herself get grabbed again, and she couldn’t let the doll get sucked up the way she could see her other sneaker vanishing into the blanket. She sighed, stretching a bit, then ran forward as fast as she could go, her lack of shoes slowing her down a hair, her socks not getting nearly as much traction on the soft carpet as they would have. She managed to stop just short of the blanket anyway, however, snatching the doll up and pulling her hand away right before one corner of the blanket whipped out towards her wrist.

Of course, she still had to get out of the playpen somehow, and she wasn’t sure how she was going to do that… The front of the playpen, near the gate, seemed the safest part, with fewer nap stations set up, yet that didn’t change the fact that she was too tiny to reach the latch. She made a desperate attempt anyway, getting up on her toes, stretching as tall as she could, to no avail, wondering if, despite everything, her escape had been for nothing…

And then she saw the pillow, still lazily floating towards her, like a fluffy, white manta ray swimming through the air. It wasn’t super far off the ground, but if she timed it right… She looked down at the doll in her hand, knowing that this would be challenging enough with both hands free. She stepped back and threw the doll as hard as she could, expecting it to take a few tries; surprisingly, it sailed over the gate, landing on the other side, the first time. It felt a bit weird, seeing an even tinier version of herself sailing through the air like that, though she didn’t have time to worry about that now.

“Ready?” she whispered to herself, seeing the pillow approaching. “Okay!” This wasn’t quite the same as cheerleading, but that had taught her to jump, and that was exactly what she needed to do now, hopping up onto the pillow, then launching herself up off of it, before it could try to grab onto her, leaping off of it up to the top of the gate. Her feet scrambled, struggling to find a foothold on the smooth plastic, but, after a long moment, they did it, pushing her forward, letting her tumble off and over the other side, landing on the other side, free.

There, waiting for her when she got back to her feet, was the doll. Right away, she could see that it was no longer dressed the same, however, blushing slightly as she picked it up and saw that it was wearing the same thing she was now – a pair of frilly, white ankle socks, and a diaper with something written on it that she couldn’t read. There was one difference, though…

“Hey!” she pouted up at the ceiling. “I’m not wet!”

When she looked back down, however, she realized that wasn’t true. Both her diaper, and the one on the doll, were clearly soggy, and she had no idea when it had happened. She blushed, glad to be able to put the doll down with the one of Julianne, setting that one on top of her own to try to hide it, grateful that the room hadn’t pulled anything and hidden the first doll after all. If there were two dolls, she had a feeling there must be a third one, too, and that they were probably important… But where would she find the one of Serena? And what were they meant to do with them once she had?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Serena shuddered as she stood there, underneath the TV shelf, for a moment, having a flashback to what had almost happened. How could she have been so willing to stay there, even knowing what Mrs. Ariadne was?! For a minute or two, she’d been perfectly happy to stay there in the daycare, to let herself be a baby forever… That wasn’t really what she wanted, was it?!
She wrinkled her nose, staring down at her babyish dress, and her sagging diaper… Of course she didn’t! Mrs. Ariadne had hypnotized her, that was all… But she couldn’t help thinking about how Alecia, apparently, hadn’t been hypnotized… And how she recalled hearing about how hypnosis wasn’t supposed to work on you at all, unless there was some part of you that wanted it…
She shook her head, quickly toddling away, as if she were afraid Alecia might somehow read her mind, or have heard that same thing, and be putting it all together now… She wasn’t sure, at first, where she was going, just away from the other girl, but when she glanced up, she realized she’d headed straight for the diaper pail.
That was natural, she supposed, wiggling her bottom. She did need another change, hopefully performed by someone other than the professor she had a crush on, and not in front of her entire class, with all of them knowing she was going to get a spanking afterwards… She shivered again, hoping that the voice had been taunting them, that nobody she knew had actually witnessed any of that, because, if they had… Well, maybe it would be better to stay here, after all…
But she hadn’t gone to the changing table, though it was right there, next to it… Was she afraid that she’d use up one of their hints, that getting too close to the changing table would be the same as asking for a fresh diaper? She did want one, obviously, just not enough to do that, not when it felt like they were barely even getting started on this room.
Was there anything else to the diaper pail? Could there be something hidden about it, something they’d need to solve the puzzles here? She looked around it, glancing upwards, at the door behind it, the one that seemed to lead them out, to their freedom…
“Oh!” she gasped. Was this a mistake?! Had whoever had made this room messed up?! She was certain that, if she could get on top of the diaper pail, she could reach the doorknob. Yes, it was probably locked, though… What if it wasn’t? What if there was some other puzzle in here that was meant to make the door open, since they wouldn’t be able to reach the knob on their own, but if they could find some other way to get to it…?
It was a long shot, sure, and yet, having seen that, she couldn’t help wanting to try it out, just to see. Was this an attempt to prove to herself that she really did want to get out of here? Was she afraid that, if she passed up the opportunity, when the door was so close, that it might mean that she had some desire, deep down, to stay like this?
Compared to Serena, the diaper pail was big, though, in comparison to everything else, it seemed fairly small, not that intimidating. If she reached up as high as she could, she could hook her fingers over the top. From there, however, she wasn’t sure what to do. She pulled, and kicked her feet against the sides, but it was made out of smooth metal, so she couldn’t find any purchase there, and, after a moment or two, she lost her grip, slipping back down and falling flat on her sore, messy bottom.
“Stupid pail!” she scowled, kicking it in frustration after getting back to her feet. The pail didn’t budge… It was solid, and not going anywhere. She wasn’t going to be able to scoot it closer to the door, or knock it over, or anything… She also didn’t think she was going to be able to get onto it, until she glanced over and saw the changing table right beside it. The top of it was far enough away from the door that she couldn’t get to the doorknob from there, yet close enough to the diaper pail that she ought to be able to jump from one to the other without too much trouble…
She stepped over to the changing table, scanning the shelves to try to find a good path to climb upwards, and, as she looked, she spotted something unusual tucked away, among the extra diapers and baby powder. Cautiously, she reached in, pulling out what seemed to be a large puzzle piece. “Interesting,” she said, looking it over. It was made of thick wood, not the thinner cardboard that she was used to puzzles being made out of, though she assumed that was more durable, and able to stand up to being played with by toddlers better. It was a corner piece, too, but just by looking at the size of it, and how of a picture she saw in it, she suspected all of the pieces might be… It appeared to be a sleeping kitten, and in that one piece, she could see most of its face, and its paws resting underneath it.
There must be more pieces to find, and there was a part of her that wanted to search for them right away, but she hoped that her current plan would mean she wouldn’t need them. She set it aside, laying it down on the floor where she could find it again if she needed it, and started to climb up the side of the changing table, using the shelves to pull herself up and onto the soft, cushy top, crinkling gently as she walked across it.
It would have been the perfect time to change herself, except she hadn’t brought any supplies up with her, and she didn’t want to waste any time with that now, when she could be so close to escaping. She looked down at the diaper pail, which, from up here, seemed a lot further away than it had from the floor, and, after taking a deep breath, she jumped.
She misjudged the distance after all, her feet barely landing on the lid, her arms waving in a desperate attempt to keep her balance, and stop from falling backwards off of there… Only for her to feel herself start to fall anyway. The lid collapsed almost immediately, falling downwards, clanging against the inside of the empty diaper pail, and nearly taking her with it and dumping her inside. If she’d landed more squarely on the lid, she wasn’t sure she would have been quick enough to jump out of the way, but since she hadn’t, she just had to shift her balance backwards, let herself fall back instead of forwards.
“Ow!” she whined, rubbing her bottom through her diaper after landing on it once again. It was definitely better than the alternative, however, of being stuck inside the pail… She blushed, realizing how close she’d come to that, not knowing if she would have been able to get out on her own or not.
Was the diaper pail a trap after all? Had they put it so near to the door to get her to do exactly what she’d done? Had she fallen for the escape room’s tricks yet again?! She groaned in frustration, cursing at herself inwardly for being so stupid, before something occurred to her.
The pail’s lid had fallen inwards, and it was only able to do that because there was nothing inside… And it was right beside the changing table. Sure, that might not be anything unusual, since that was where most people kept their diaper pails, but still… If the diaper pail was full, then the lid wouldn’t have anywhere to go, would it?
She blushed, remembering all too well how this room seemed determined to make her use her diapers, and how it had succeeded, not once but twice already. Was that for a reason, beyond humiliating her? If they went through enough diapers, would that let them escape? She wasn’t sure… She didn’t know how to open the diaper pail, other than hopping on top of it, which was dangerous, and she didn’t even know if this would make a difference if it did work, since the door could still be locked… It might be better to look for more of the puzzle pieces, now that she’d found one… Either way, she knew she needed to get up and get back to work, because time, as always, was quickly ticking away…
What should Alecia do?
Ask for a change?
Look at the ring toys?
Investigate the toy box?
Look at the doll house?
Check out the coloring books?
Investigate the jack in the box?
Go down the slide?
Climb into the tunnels?
Or ask for a hint?
Escape Room – Chapter 9
Escape Room – Chapter 9
She could do this… Alecia wasn’t about to back down, not when the challenge was so simple, and she didn’t like her chances of being able to outrun the rest of the squad, all of whom were far bigger than her, and could probably catch her before she reached either exit to this room. Like it or not, there was really only one choice.
Blushing, she lifted the pom-poms, the other girls giggling as she exposed her chest once more, almost breaking her resolve. She shook her head, taking a deep breath, and started to shake the pom-poms, ignoring their reaction. The start was easy; they’d given her the first few when they’d told her to do this! “Gimme an A!” she exclaimed, thrusting her arms out. “Gimme a B! Gimme an A, B, C!”
She smirked, daring to sneak a peek at the cheerleaders, seeing a wave of disappointment fall over them. They didn’t know that she’d been so confident with that simply because they’d told her that was what she was doing, and that was why it was so fresh on her mind, and they didn’t have to. She beamed with pride, her confidence soaring, a faint hope filling her. After seeing that, would they crack, assume they’d been wrong, and leave her alone? Surely they’d give her skirt back, at the very least… Maybe she’d even get a cheerleading uniform to wear instead, so her diaper wasn’t constantly showing. But why would any of them happen to have one of those in her new size in their locker?
Unfortunately, that was all she really had, and she only had that because she’d just heard it. Now, she was lost, stranded in the wilderness. She froze, biting her bottom lip, hearing the giggling start up anew as she struggled. What was she going to do?! How was she going to get through this?! She couldn’t remember how long the alphabet was, but it was way longer than just those first few, or else it would have been a very short cheer, and song…
Song! Her eyes lit up. Of course! How many times had she sang them through with her little sister, Rebecca, trying to help her learn them? She might not be able to recall them normally, but remembering songs was much easier, and if she could bring up the tune… She closed her eyes, smiling as a memory of sitting in front of Rebecca, having her sing along, back when she’d been so much smaller than Alecia, not bigger.
“Gimme a D, E, F!” she glared at the squad, eyes popping back open as she got to the right point in the song, mentally, trying to pause the music in her head so she could translate it to a cheer.
Starting it back up was another matter altogether as she stopped moving, arms in the air, frowning. The tune had begun to play again, but what she was hearing didn’t sound right to her at all, to the point where she had to start fresh. “Come on, Alecia!” Crystal sneered as Alecia stood there, running back through the first couple sets of letters to get back to where she’d left off.
“Or do you give up?” Britney asked.
“No!” Alecia shook her head, groaning when that made her lose her place, too. Once more, she listened to the beginning of the song.
“We don’t have all day!” Viola snapped.
All these interruptions weren’t helping, as Alecia fought to recall, now, where she’d left off. Flustered, and feeling the impatience of the squad, she launched back into it where she was. “Gimme a F, E, C!”
“No, silly,” Britney told her. “You already did those!”
They had sounded familiar, but, as they had no real meaning to her anymore, outside the lyrics of a song, it was hard to keep them straight, especially with so many people watching her, rooting for her failure. “G-Gimme a D, E, F?”
“You did those, too,” Crystal rolled her eyes.
“At least they were in the right order this time,” Viola snickered. “Is that as far as you’ve been taught, sweetie?” she knelt down to get on Alecia’s level. “Has your Mommy only taught you six letters?”
“N-No,” Alecia whimpered. She could do this! “Gimme an A, B, C, D, E, F, G…” This was it, she thought! It was too tricky, singing the song in her head, translating that to a cheer, keeping up with where she was in both… Instead, she just started to sing the song out loud, rustling her pom-poms.
There was a pause in the song there, though, and starting back up was, as always, the difficult part. She’d been over the first section so many times with Rebecca, ensuring she had it all in the right order… That was burned into her brain much more deeply than what came after.
“G…” she repeated, feeling herself start to sweat. What next?! What was after G?!
“H!” she gasped, grinning with triumph. “H, I…” This was where it got really tricky, she knew. There were a couple letters here that sounded very similar to one another, that rhymed… Which order did they go in?!
“H, I,” she started again, to give herself a running start. “K, K?”
That had to be wrong; she’d said the same one twice! She stomped her foot, beginning to feel frustrated, ready to start over from the beginning, when Crystal snatched the pom-poms out of her hands.
“Hey!” Alecia squeaked. “I’m not done!”
“Yes, you are,” Crystal told her. “It’s obvious you don’t know them, and we’ve given you plenty of chances to prove otherwise. What you need is a nice little refresher course at daycare.”
“No, I don’t!” Alecia insisted. “I’m a big girl!”
“A big girl who can’t even remember her ABCs without singing them,” Viola commented. “And even then, she can’t get halfway through!” Had she really not even finished half?! Alecia squirmed, not confident enough to deny it.
“Come on,” Crystal stuffed the pom-poms into her locker and scooped Alecia up, the smaller girl wiggling helplessly in her arms. “We all actually are big girl, and we have better things to do than babysit a little brat like you.”
Alecia kicked her legs uselessly as Crystal began to walk, leading the pack of cheerleaders towards the locker room door. “Let me have my shirt back, at least!” she begged. “You can’t take me out there like this! Everyone is going to see!”
“That’s right,” Britney teased. “They’re all going to see what you did to your diaper!” She gave it a poke, the padding squishing beneath her finger.
“You know what?” Crystal paused. “She’s right… We can’t take her out this way…” Alecia let out a sigh of relief, staring up at Crystal gratefully. “Does anyone happen to have a spare diaper in their locker?”
“Oh!” another girl jumped up, waving her hand. “I bet I have a spare from my babysitting job!”
“Perfect!” Crystal grinned. “It’s too bad we don’t have room here to change her… Why don’t we go see if the football team has done a better job of keeping the benches in their locker room clear?”
“Crystal!” Alecia squealed. “Y-You can’t!”
“Then stop me,” Crystal shrugged. Alecia thrashed and writhed, all to no avail, her smaller form no match for a normal-sized Crystal as she was carried out into the hallway, paraded past a few small groups of students standing around and talking, and, finally, into the football players’ locker room. The whole time, Alecia could see one wall of every place they went past that showed her the cafeteria, that made her assume that everyone there could also watch what was going on.
“Sorry, boys,” Crystal called out, catching the attention of the team. “We have to do a little invasion here… We needed some space to take care of a bit of a problem.”
“Whoa,” Alecia heard one of the football players ask, as she buried her face in Crystal’s arm, trying to hide. “Whose kid is that?”
The cheerleading squad tittered as one, Crystal easily extracting Alecia from her side, holding her up to face the football team, as they gathered around, most of them half-naked, wrapped in towels, or wearing only their pants as they prepared to go into the showers. Her face blazed bright red as she saw the recognition passing over them, as they looked confused, or – mostly – amused at the sight of her. Alecia tried to cover her bare chest, her soggy diaper, but there was no way to hide both, and, in her indecision about which was more crucial, she wound up not fully shielding either from their view.
Of course, Darren, the football player Britney had been dating, before that fateful Halloween party where Alecia had stolen him, was there, front and center, as Crystal laid Alecia down on the bench and started to untape her diaper. “Uh-oh,” Crystal said. “We forgot the baby wipes… Derrick, why don’t you go get some toilet paper from the bathroom?”
He was happy to oblige, and, when he returned, after Alecia had been forced to lie there, diaper open, for what felt like an eternity, he even stepped forward to wipe her off, clean her up, before Crystal slid the fresh diaper under her, taping it shut. “There we go!” she declared, giving the crotch a pat. “All better!”
“Not quite,” Britney interrupted, sliding to the front of the crowd, marker in hand. She scrawled something onto the front of Alecia’s diaper, and Alecia squirmed as she heard everyone else laugh at it.
“Wh-What did you write?” she pouted, pawing at the padding to give herself a better look at it, not that it mattered.
“If you can’t read it,” Crystal said, “I guess that means it’s true. Now, wave bye-bye, everybody! Alecia needs to get back to daycare… Where she belongs. I don’t think we’re going to be seeing her again for a long, long time…”
Serena fumbled with her mittens, gulping as she felt the eyes of Mr. Bledsoe, and all of her classmates, on her.
“Now, young lady,” Mr. Bledsoe repeated, sounding even more impatient.
“J-Just ask me the question,” she mumbled, giving up, knowing that there was no way she was going to get free of the restraints, certainly not on her own, when she was so flustered.
A shiver ran up Serena’s spine at the look the professor gave her. Was this how everyone else felt, in his classes? She could see why he’d gotten the reputation he had… And, in a weird way, it almost made him more attractive to her, despite everything.
“I told you to pick up the marker,” he reminded her sternly.
“Just ask!” she insisted.
His eyes narrowed, and then, after a long, still moment, he shrugged. “All right,” he said. “When simplified…” He spouted off a long math problem, Serena watching him intently, taking the numbers in. It wasn’t nearly as easy for her as usual, her time at the nursery having definitely slowed her down a bit, but, after a moment or two of panic, of worrying that she’d lost her touch entirely, or that she’d misremembered what he’d told her – assuming that he would not be happy about having to repeat it – it all came together.
“Negative seven!” she declared proudly, positive she was right.
“Hmm,” he sniffed, showing no indication one way or the other before launching into the next one.
It was trickier, and she was less confident about her answer, though not by much, and Mr. Bledsoe’s reaction was the same, which gave her hope. The third went even better, almost well enough to let her forget what she was wearing, what she’d spent her morning doing, now that she was back in her element. Even the other students had quieted down…
Though not for long, as she felt a cramp wrack her tummy. She gasped, wrapping her arms around herself, squirming desperately. This couldn’t be happening now! That stupid brownie… It was bad enough she was standing here in a dirty diaper in the first place; she was not about to make it even worse, not in front of Mr. Bledsoe, and the rest of the class!
“Are you quite finished?” Mr. Bledsoe sighed, glaring down his nose at her.
“S-Sorry,” she blushed, tentatively straightening back up, grateful that nothing happened when she did. “Wh-What’s the next question?”
“Does it matter?” the teacher asked. “Have you not wasted enough of everyone else’s time?”
“Wh-What do you mean?” she frowned.
“I asked you to write your answers down,” he snapped. “You haven’t so much as picked up the marker, young lady!”
“I can’t!” she held her mittened hands up. “Does it matter?! I got them all right!”
“No, you didn’t.” Those three words shook Serena more than almost anything else that had happened to her that day. Had she not? Frantically, she replayed the quiz in her mind, trying to remember what he’d asked her, what she’d said… She wasn’t used to missing math problems, definitely not in front of the whole class. “And even if you had, you haven’t shown any of your work. You know I can’t grade you properly unless you do that.”
“You can’t make an exception?” she whined. “I can’t pick up the stupid marker! I’m doing my best!”
“Well, your best isn’t good enough,” he told her, shaking her to her core. Her best had always been more than enough… What had this escape room done to her?! And was it going to be undone when – or if, she thought anxiously – she got out?! “I am very disappointed in you, young lady… I expected more from you.”
“I-I’m sorry!” she sniffed. “I-If you’d just help me with these…” She held her hands up to him one more time, and, to her surprise, he picked her up once more, but not to take the mittens off. He laid her down on his desk, in front of the rest of the classroom, Serena wincing as he pushed up her dress, ripped open the first tape of her diaper, the sound of plastic echoing through the room. “Wh-What are you doing?!”
“I think you know,” he said. “I told you what what happen if you didn’t do as you were told. And it hardly makes sense to spank you on a diaper this thick, especially with all this extra… padding… in there…”
“M-Mr. Bledsoe!” Serena gasped. “Y-You can’t spank me! Y-You can’t…!” Her second protest was cut off as he did exactly what she’d been about to declare he couldn’t, undoing the next tape, unfolding the diaper to reveal what she’d done to it to him, and her classmates. “P-Please, don’t…”
“And why shouldn’t I?” Mr. Bledsoe demanded, opening up a drawer on his desk and pulling out a package of baby wipes, cleaning her up. “Give me one good reason, young lady.”
“Uh…” Serena squirmed, her mind suddenly empty. “I-I…. Y-You…”
She was too smart for this! All she had to do was come up with one justification, one excuse… And absolutely nothing came to mind, her head fuzzy with humiliation as her professor ran the cool baby wipes over her sensitive flesh, the sight of his fingers so close to her only making it harder to concentrate until he was done, tossing her diaper out and dragging his chair in front of his desk.
“I didn’t hear anything,” he shrugged. “So I suppose that means you’ve realized you deserve this.”
“No!” Serena squealed as he picked her up, sitting down and draping her over his lap, delivering a hard swat to her bare, freshly wiped backside. “Ow!” Tears stung her eyes, her feet kicking instinctively, for all the good it did her. Even if she managed to hit him with them, would he even notice? Next to him, she was absolutely tiny, helpless…
“When you come into my classroom, young lady,” he lectured, giving her another spank, “I expect you to do as you’re told! Do you understand that?”
“Y-Yes, sir!” she sniffed, her bottom already feeling warm and pink. “I-I’ll be good!”
“I hope so,” he said. “But with girls like you, there’s only one way to be sure, and that’s to give you something to remember this lesson by.”
That something, it seemed, was a throbbing, red rear. Serena was bawling in no time, legs thrashing in a futile attempt to escape, not stopping until he had her lying on a fresh diaper in the middle of his desk, giving her a moment to catch her breath and calm down a little before he taped it up, sitting her on the edge of her desk, her feet dangling.
“Now, what do you have to say to the rest of the class for this interruption?” he asked.
“I-I’m very sorry,” she sniffled, squirming, the diaper providing a bit of padding, though not enough to make sitting on her bottom comfortable. “I-I should not have disrupted the class by…”
And then, it happened. Another cramp hit, and this time, Serena was no match for it whatsoever. She gasped as she felt a warm mush oozing its way into her diaper, the diaper she’d barely had time to enjoy – even if it was a diaper, it was, at least, clean, and hers hadn’t been that in what felt like quite a while – and she attempted to push down, to press her backside into the hard, wooden desk beneath her, but thanks to the spanking she’d just endured, she couldn’t make herself do that, either. She clenched, groaning, and found that useless as well.
“What do you think you’re doing?!” Mr. Bledsoe glowered. “You stop that right now, young lady!”
Serena really wished she could, but, instead, she felt herself leaning forward, the mucky flow speeding up, spreading throughout her new diaper, giving the whole class, and the cafeteria watching from the far wall, a show as she filled her pants for the second time that morning.
“All right,” Mr. Bledsoe shook his head. “Clearly, the spanking wasn’t enough… I want you to go stand in the corner for the rest of the class, and think about what you’ve done.”
“No!” Serena’s hands curled around the edge of the desk. She couldn’t do that! By the time class was over, her time limit at the escape room would be, too… “P-Please, sir… I-I’ve learned my lesson, I promise! I’m just… not mature enough for your class.”
“No, you obviously aren’t,” he eyed her lumpy diaper.
“I know where she belongs,” one of Serena’s classmates spoke up. “I work at a daycare, just down the street…”
“What do you think?” Mr. Bledsoe asked Serena. “Is that where you belong?”
Serena swallowed, squirmed, and, finally, nodded, admitting it. “Y-Yes, sir…”
“Very good,” he said. “Now, then, there’s just one other thing we need to do…” He took one more thing out of his desk, a red marker, with which he wrote a huge F on the front of her diaper. “Your grade for today,” he clarified. “So everyone will know.”
Serena whimpered, tugging at the hem of her dress, knowing that he’d written it far enough down the padding that she wouldn’t be able to hide it, that everyone she saw would know she’d failed… And, from the look of her diaper, they’d probably assume that the thing she’d failed was potty training. “Y-Yes, sir,” she replied quietly, letting herself be led away by her classmate, toddling along, the redness from her spanking peeking out from beneath her diaper, giving everyone she passed another indication of what a naughty little girl she was.
She wasn’t sure if it was a good sign or not that, once she stepped outside the building, she didn’t see the silver, shimmering screen that showed her the cafeteria anymore, if that meant that she wasn’t being watched anymore or not. It certainly made the outside world feel more real, more scary… Until she was ushered into the daycare, and she saw who – or, rather, what – was waiting for her there.
“Look at that,” it grinned at her. “Another new arrival… What a lucky day!”
Serena shivered at the sight of the giant half spider, half woman, standing in front of her, skittering towards her on six legs, as its top half – the human half – reached forward to scoop her up off the ground. “No!” she wrinkled her nose. “Let me go!”
“It’s all right,” the spider woman smiled at her. “My name is Mrs. Ariadne, and I’m going to take very good care of you, and your new friend…” She held Serena up, forcing the girl to stare her in the eyes… Eyes that were shaped like a human’s, but, now that Serena was seeing them close up, she could see were pure black, like any other spider’s… And that she found herself getting lost in as she was taken further into the daycare, set down next to Alecia, who was now shirtless, in a dry diaper with the words ‘Brainless Baby Brat’ written on the front.
“Okay, girls,” Mrs. Ariadne cooed. “I’m so happy to have new students here, after so long… There are plenty of fun toys here for you to play with, and I have so many great games planned… So there’s no reason for you to ever leave, now is there?”
There was a part of Serena that knew she had something else she was supposed to be doing, that this wasn’t right… But she couldn’t remember what. “No, Mrs. Ariadne!” she exclaimed, clapping her hands happily. “We’re gonna stay here forever, right, Alecia?”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Alecia gave Serena a confused look, more certain than ever that something was wrong here. She hadn’t quite been able to tell what, but as soon as the cheerleaders had dropped her off here, she’d known that something was off… And that was before she’d looked around, and seen the doll.

Instantly, she recognized the room as the one she’d seen in the TV show that had been playing in the escape room, now that she’d seen the doll as well. She toddled over, poking at it, concerned. “Julianne?” she asked quietly, somewhat unsettled by how still the toy was now, when, on TV, it had been moving around, singing and playing dress-up. That was why she’d wanted to check the television out, assuming that this was the real Julianne, somehow. Now, it was obvious it was no more than a doll, no matter how much it looked like her friend.

She was positive it was important anyway, however, and she was getting ready to take it and mount an escape when Serena showed up, looking dazed, and freshly spanked. Had Mrs. Ariadne done that?! Alecia squirmed, rubbing her own bottom sympathetically, not even wanting to think about what that must feel like. She supposed she couldn’t blame Serena for going along with what the woman said, after that, but the girl’s enthusiasm for it was still a bit disturbing.

It didn’t go away when Mrs. Ariadne stepped out, promising to be getting snacks for them, either. Despite the load in her diaper – and was it a different diaper than before? Alecia could have sworn that wasn’t the same design – Serena plopped down and started to play with blocks, as well as she could, at least, with the mittens locked around her wrists.

“Come on,” Alecia hissed. “Look, there’s the doll… We need to take it and get out of here!”

“Nuh-uh,” Serena shook her head. “Mrs. Ariadne said there was no reason to leave!”

“Well, she’s wrong!” Alecia rolled her eyes. “We still have to get out of the escape room, remember?”

Serena furrowed her brow. “What do we need to escape from?”

“This!” Alecia spread her arms wide, then gestured down at her outfit, such as it was now. “We don’t belong here, Serena! We’re college students!”

“Nuh-uh,” Serena said. “See? I failed out of that.” She pointed down at her diaper, at the thing drawn there, which meant nothing to Alecia. “This is where I belong now.”

As frustrating as the girl could be, and as much as Alecia might have been tempted, earlier on, she knew, by now, that she could very well need her to solve the rest of the puzzles in the escape room. If there was anything that required reading, for example, Alecia was absolutely screwed without someone else, and Serena was who she was stuck with for now.

“Come on,” Alecia grabbed Serena by the wrist. “We don’t have time for this!”

“Ow!” Serena whined. “That hurts! Mrs. Ariadne!”

“Shut up!” Alecia ordered.

“Mrs. Ariadne!” Serena wailed again, prompting Serena to pull her harder, dragging her across the room to pick up the Julianne doll and head for the door they’d been brought in by. It was standing open, which felt both lucky, and ominous at the same time. “Mrs. Ariadne!”

“Would you be quiet?!” Alecia huffed, pulling Serena through the doorway… And immediately being stopped by something sticky. She frowned, struggling, feeling the sticky substance clinging to her skin, trying to wrap around her… It was almost like walking through a spiderweb, she thought, except the strands were much bigger, much stronger…

“What’s going on out there?” Mrs. Ariadne called. “Are you girls playing nicely?”

Alecia wriggled, thrashing, trying to get free… And then, luckily, it worked, the arm holding the doll breaking through the invisible strings, giving her an open space to aim for, shoving the other strands aside as she stepped forward…

And back out into the escape room, teetering on the edge of the television shelf, almost falling before she could stop herself. She turned to check on Serena, to be sure she had gotten through as well, and saw the the TV screen was now off.

It took Serena a moment or two to snap out of it, to start frantically brushing what looked even more like oversized spiderwebs now that they were free off of herself, before the two of them scrambled down the staircase of blocks, taking the Julianne doll with them, Alecia disappointed that it still hadn’t transformed into her friend, even outside of the TV. As soon as they stepped off the last block, the whole structure sank into the floor, as if those toys had never been there in the first place.

“Good work,” the woman’s voice came over the speakers. “You both gave your friends quite the show, and managed to get back here after all… But now it’s been thirty-five minutes. Maybe you should have just stayed and played with Mrs. Ariadne for a while longer… I bet you’d have more fun with her than you will with me.”

The two girls looked at one another, each a bit shaken at the woman’s words, at the implication that people they knew might really have seen what had just happened, and at the room around them. There were still quite a few things left to explore; what were they going to try next?

What should Serena do?

Check out the playpen?
Look at the ring toys?
Investigate the toy box?
Look at the doll house?
Check out the coloring books?
Investigate the jack in the box?
Go down the slide?
Climb into the tunnels?
Look at the changing table?
Check out the diaper pail?
Or ask for a hint?

Living With A Brat

Living With A Brat

“How do you put up with her?” Sage whispered, even though Darla was halfway across the restaurant by then, and there was no way she could have overheard. “She is the biggest brat I’ve ever met… And I’ve babysat a lot of four year old girls in my time.”

Tori had to stifle a giggle at that, a part of her wondering if her friend had put it that way for a reason, if she knew… But she couldn’t imagine how that would have happened if Darla hadn’t told her, and she certainly couldn’t imagine the girl doing that. “Oh, you know how it is,” she shrugged noncommittally. “You learn to live with it, I guess… And I can’t afford the rent on my own.”

“You could find a better roommate,” Courtney said bluntly. “Like, I bet you could put an ad on Craigslist and find someone better. There’s no way she actually helps with the chores, right?”

“You’d be surprised,” Tori replied. “I wouldn’t want to kick her out onto the streets anyway… I doubt she’d have much luck convincing anyone else to live with her.”

“Good point,” Sage nodded. “Still… I hate that you have to put up with that…”

“I have my own ways of dealing with it,” Tori smiled mysteriously, but the rest of her friends weren’t able to pry it out of her before Darla returned, looking around suspiciously as the conversation – or, rather, the playful teasing it had devolved into – instantly fizzled out.

“What are you talking about?” she asked.

“Nothing,” Tori told her. “Sit down and eat.”

Darla glared at the rest of the table, a pout forming on her face, knowing they were keeping something from her, but she did as she was told anyway, plopping down in her seat, picking up one of the french fries she’d already made the waitress replace once, when her original order was too crispy. “They’re cold,” she whined as soon as she touched one, lifting a hand to get the waitress’s attention again.

“Don’t you dare,” Tori snapped. “You’re the one who went to the bathroom as soon as she brought them.”

“I was gone, like, two minutes!” Darla huffed. “They should stay warm longer than that! And what was I supposed to do, pee my pants?!”

“Well…” Tori shrugged, chuckling along with the rest of the table at her ‘joke’, and Darla’s flustered reaction to it, squirming in her seat and telling them all they were being mean, her default reaction to anything she didn’t like.

It was, in fact, the same reaction she had when they got back to their house that evening, and Tori ordered her to fetch the paddle. “But I didn’t do anything!” she stomped her foot. “You’re so mean to me!”

“You were very, very rude to our waitress,” Tori reminded her. “And to our friends, after they hurt your feelings. You made a whole scene about your stupid french fries, you kept sneaking sips of my drink after you promised me you were going to be the designated driver so I could really enjoy myself…”

“It looked too good!” Darla complained. “I didn’t even have that much!”

“You don’t need much!” Tori sighed. “You were tipsy after few, so I had to stop drinking because I already knew you weren’t safe to drive!”

Darla pouted, crossing her arms. “It looked so pretty! I couldn’t help myself!”

“You never can, can you?” Tori shook her head. “And that’s why you need this spanking, young lady. Now, go get the paddle, and get into the position, or I’m putting you in diapers afterwards for disobedience.”

That changed Darla’s tune, as it always did, melting her brattiness away in a flash, sending her scrambling to her punishment room to fetch the paddle Tori was going to use to spank her bottom pink, trying to ignore the crib there, the changing table, the high chair, the shelves full of big, fluffy diapers, knowing that any of them could be used on her at any moment… As, thanks to her behavior, they very often were.
